Col Amanpreet Singh Legha, Program Director - AFVs

A highly decorated third generation Army officer from the Armoured Corps, took premature retirement in 2007 after 21 plus years of exemplar service. During his service, he has been closely associated with tank equipment when serving in his Regiment, while posted as an Instructor in the Armoured Corps Centre and School on two occasions - where he taught officers about equipment and during his tenure in the DGQA - CQA (Special Vehicles).

Instructor in the Automotive Wing and The School of Armoured Warfare of the Armoured Corps Centre and School teaching heavy vehicles to officers. Col Legha led the Driving and Maintenance Team sent to Russia for training on the T 90 S tank when it was procured for the first time in 2001 and was specially selected to be a part of the DGQA Pre Despatch Inspection team sent to the Russian tank factory at Nizhny Tagil for close to 4 months again. He was later posted to the DGQA on deputation in the Controllerate of Quality Assurance (Special Vehicles) for four years, where he dealt with procurement of equipment and spares for all types of heavy vehicles
